What’s the best device for me?

Looking into getting a handheld device. I am on airplanes a lot for work, sometimes 2-5 times per week, staying in hotels etc., and would like something to help pass the time. Currently only play on console (Xbox) so that’s what’s most familiar to me. What device would be the best investment?
