SHN NGG (references done, on hold) + Northern Ontario offer — wait or accept?

Hi everyone,

I recently interviewed with Scarborough Health Network (SHN) for the NGG program. My references were contacted, and afterward I received an email saying they are still interested in my application and have already rejected candidates who didn’t meet requirements.

However, they also mentioned that hiring is currently on hold due to organizational priorities and that this does not guarantee an offer. It’s now been about 2 weeks since that email, and I haven’t heard any updates.

At the same time, I’ve received an offer from a hospital in Northern Ontario. I was really hoping to wait for SHN because that’s my preferred option, but I’m feeling stuck and unsure what to do.

I don’t want to lose a confirmed offer, but I also don’t want to miss out on SHN if something comes through.

Has anyone been in a similar situation with SHN or NGG programs?

Would you accept the Northern Ontario offer or wait a bit longer?

Any advice would really help.
