HSG experience. Thoughts?
I had an HSG done yesterday and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. I consider myself to have a high pain tolerance but this sucked. I took 800 mg Ibuprofen an hour before the procedure. The doctor was great and made me comfortable so there were no issues there. The insertion of the catheter was fine too, and once the contrast started flowing I felt some mild cramping start then was suddenly in excruciating pain. Doc said my right tube was clear, but he didn't see anything in my left. Told me he would give me a quick break and push again. The second push of contrast nearly made me pass out but alas it made it through and both tubes are clear.
Do we think he cleared a blockage with the fluid?? I was so nauseous and dizzy after, I had to lay there a few minutes.
But immediately after he stopped pushing the contrast the pain went away, no cramping the rest of the day and only mild spotting/clotting same day. Not sure if my experience was terrible because he forced the fluid through or if it varies but wanted to share my story and see if anyone had anything similar or any thoughts. Hoping this is a good sign and worth the pain, maybe increases our chances the next couple months 🤞🏼
