my experience with vertigo vinyl
i have made about four or five orders from vertigo vinyl and have honestly not had the best experience with them.
first order was four records. one of the four was a preorder for the sign crushes motorist album “i’ll be okay”. i ordered this album very excited for the colors i ordered. about a week prior to the expected shipping date, they sent out an email (i put it above) saying that they messed up the pressing and that i would not be getting the colors i ordered and that if i was unhappy i could just cancel my entire four lp order (which had another limited sold out release that i didn’t want to lose). they also said that, despite the mess up, the album was still expected to ship the following week. one week goes by and nothing. i assume that they’re running slightly behind and don’t question it too much. two weeks go by. i reply to the email asking if they have any update. week three rolls by and i have not received my order or any response from the vertigo customer service team. week four comes and i send another email asking for an update. they then finally respond with a slightly passive aggressive email telling me that it’s because of the manufacturing error? even though they said that wouldn’t impact the shipping date? order finally shipped after week six.
every other order i have had from them has failed to ship on the promised date, which wouldn’t peeve me if they at least shipped it within that week. my bassvictim album was supposed to have been sent out last week and im still waiting.
then, we get to the actual records themselves. they’re gorgeous and fun, don’t get me wrong, but definitely thinner and flimsier than most records i own. just lower quality for sure. the audio sounds perfect though!
idk, overall i’m not fully pleased with vertigo, but not enough to stop shopping with them, just enough to want to review them.
