Why is the most common divisibility rule of 4 dividing the last 2 digits by 4 when you can just look at them?

Honestly looking at the last 2 digits is actually much quicker than dividing them by 4. This is what I do to identify a multiple of 4:

  • The 2nd to last digit is even and the last digit is 0, 4 or 8
  • The 2nd to last digit is odd and the last digit is 2 or 6

This method is much quicker for me than dividing the number by 4. I don't know why most people don't use that
