Is remote volunteering actually impactful or just feel-good work?
I’ve been working with an NGO recently, and we’ve been exploring remote volunteering options, things like content writing, PR, social media.
On paper, it sounds great. More flexibility, more people can contribute. But in practice, I’ve noticed mixed results like some volunteers are consistent and genuinely helpful, while others lose interest quickly or don’t follow through.
So I’m curious:
Do you think remote volunteering actually creates real impact, or does it end up being more of a feel-good activity for volunteers?
Would love to hear honest experiences from both volunteers and people working in NGOs.
