I fell in love with the Eyelash Sofle a couple years ago (wireless,

knob, and joystick variation) and actually purchases 2 different colors.

The only thing i wished it had was more thumb cluster keys (mostly for brackets when programming). I stumbled onto the Halcyon Elora and was super interested...gave it some thought, and pulled the trigger.

After assembling (which they make super easy) and tossing some switches and DSA caps on (the cherry caps i had just didnt feel quite right) ive been giving it a shot the past week or so...

I love the look and feel of it, but noticed 2 slightly minor inconveniences with it over the Sofle im used to and wondered how anyone else might as well:

The first is that the extra thumb keys (red caps, except the top ones right under the screen), while positioned what id think is ergonomically natural to your hands, are just a bit too spaced out for my liking. This is probably just something i would need to get used to, but compared to the Sofle feels less compact.

The second is after using the Sofle a good while, where at first i thought the analog stick was pointless (at least perhaps for mouse movement) is actually super useful for cursor movement in an editor or terminal, and i relied on it much more than i thought i did.

Now thankfully by way of either flashing firmware in which i use keys to replace the analog stick directional movement on the Elora, or by using zmk studio to add a temp layer over the delete and backspace for the brackets i need, it seems my bases are covered.

Im still a bit conflicted as to whether i should keep the Elora or, perhaps obsessively enough, get another color Sofle 😂

All that said, does anyone have multiple keyboards they like switching between or do you have that one go-to you cant change from? Or if youve done a similar switch, what was the biggest annoyance and did you adjust or give up?
