Omni population on previous map vs current map question

I play omni mostly and there used to be lots of raptors all the time. I rarely see any other dinosaurs before starving. Were growth rates faster allowing for more non-baby raptors?

Was there more ai before? More often than not the only ai is boars which is a no-go for baby raptors. I spooked 5 or 6 chickens as a trike but can't find nearly any as a raptor.

Was the old map smaller? Is the overall allowed dino population smaller? I used to see a lot of everything. Hell I even saw a few stenosis one time on the old map.

Or was the omni just nerfed to hell since than and I didnt notice?
