Thought I killed my cactus… turns out it just decided to hibernate?

So I have this small cactus I was 100% convinced I killed last winter. It stopped growing, looked dull, slightly shriveled, didn’t react to watering at all
I basically gave up on it and just left it there out of laziness

Fast forward a couple months - spring hits, more light comes in, and suddenly it just… wakes up like nothing happened

New growth, firmer body, looks completely fine now

I didn’t change anything besides the season

Do some cacti just go into this weird “do nothing” mode and look half-dead while doing it?
Or did I accidentally hit the exact conditions it needed without realizing

Would love to hear if anyone else had a “zombie cactus” situation like this
