Lost most of the weight, not sure where to go from here
I've had 2 big weight losses in the past. This is my third. In 2011 I lost almost 70lbs. I kept it off for a couple of years then I got married had a baby and got a dad bod. I gained 30lbs back. In 2017 I went through another weight loss effort and lost 45lbs. I kept that off for a couple of years then COVID hit and I stopped going to the gym.
I gained 40lbs back until August 2025. Then I started losing weight again. I'm over 40lbs down since then and I'm very close to where I want to be. Honestly I'm still overweight but I could be happy with where I'm at. The NSV I wanted to be done at was when I wear a jacket, when it is unzipped, I didn't want my belly poking past the jacket. Basically I didn't want the jacket to frame my belly. And I'm there.
But I'm not quite down to where I was back in 2017. Part of me would like to get there.
But also...I obviously have some issues maintaining. Maybe counting calories is just a part of my daily life going forward.
But also I know I've lost muscle, I haven't been working out and I'd like to put some muscle back on. Not like a body builder, I'm way too old for that anyway. But I do want to get stronger and have my muscles like I did in 2017.
But I'm not sure who to talk to, to get there. I've seen a nutritionist in the past and I've had a Personal Trainer. But is there a one stop shop that can help me maintain, help me put together a meal plan with my macros I need to hit, and give me workout plans and help with form and knowing which muscle groups I need to hit and focus on? I have VERY tight neck and shoulders and I saw a sports massage therapist last week and he told me I have under developed lower traps on my back and that is causing the upper traps to take on most of the work and that is causing my tightness and pain. Who can I go to that can help me come up with exercises for that and help "monitor" to make sure they are getting developed and my upper traps aren't falling behind?
And overall muscle building as well.
