What to wear to an art gallery opening?

I've been seeing the lace trend literally everywhere lately and I'm finally caving. I've been trying to support more local shops instead of just hitting the big malls, so I was browsing around and spotted this really nice black lace top over at The Freedom State. It's exactly the vibe I want for an event I have coming up, but now that I'm looking at it, I'm kind of stuck on how to actually wear it without it looking too "lingerie".

I usually live in baggy jeans and boots, so I'm wondering if I can dress it down or if I need to go full dressy with it? I don't want to overthink it but lace is kinda tricky to layer.
Does anyone have styling ideas for lace, or maybe suggestions for other aussie brands that do good event pieces that aren't super formal? I'd love some inspo.
