F150 2016 engine

My partners truck makes a noise when he started it. He was told that the engine is having issues which ford knows about. The problem I’m having is that it is going to cost $6,000. It’s not a rebuilt engine or a new engine. So to justify this, I need to know if any other people have had or know of this issue. What is the best course of action. Thank you for the feedback
