Should we stay or should we go - moving back to Australia from the UK?

Hi everyone - This is obviously a super complex story to sum up here but I'll do my best. Happy to answer any questions and appreciate any input (please be nice!)

I'm an Australian and I live in the UK with my 3 year old daughter and wife. I've just turned 40 and moved here at 21, where we both got married early on. We always planned to move to Australia, but life got in the way; for us specifically we ended up going through over a decade of ta raumatic IVF journey; once we were in the system we couldn't really leave.

Now that we are out and have a little one, our next steps are unclear and we feel really stuck. Here's a bit of a summary by topic:

FAMILY

My wife's parents had a bad breakup, and a bunch of other family issues means her and my little girl don't have any family here close by. My parents are great with her and regularly face time, but they aren't getting any younger (70 & 74) and I'm torn between a reality that I could move and lose them quite quickly, after uprooting life, but also maybe that would mean I was even more glad I did move.

I have a sister who has 3 kids, and my daughter loves being with her cousins - I'm not super close with my sister, but that is a draw.

My parents are coming to see us this summer and we're all travelling around europe together - and they do come regularly - but due to their age that won't happen for much longer.

LOCATION

My parents live in a pretty remote rural town in australia , while my sister lives in a city that my wife and i dont really want to live in - it leaves an area that we do like, but either way it means we are still 3hrs from my sister's family and 4.5 hours from my parents. No matter where we live in aus we will be a way away.

Here in the UK we do like the area we live in and live near the sea - the biggest downside are the UK winters.

WORK & MONEY

Another issue with aus is we missed the property boom there - so whilst the pound is currently strong against the dollar, Australia is an expensive place to live. We are both self employed creatives, so don't have the luxury of being able to be easily transferred if we did work in say the NHS or schools.

Being self employed here our life setup is pretty good - we work from home, see our little girl lots, and have paid off our house. We would move to a more expensive house if we did stay, but would keep it manageable and with the access to ISA's in the UK would be financially comfy.

So the real difference could be boiled down to:

UK: More work/life balance, less family, more travel
Australia: Work harder, more family, nicer weather, less access to europe & travel

My wife would need a visa £5k, but my daughter can get citizenship straight away.

Would love to get some outside perspective, even if it's general thoughts about how to approach this. Thanks!
