Question for Algerian girls: is it okay for a guy to approach you at university in a respectful way?

Honestly, I’m a good-looking guy, tall, confident, and sometimes when I see a girl who seems interesting, I’d like to go and start a normal conversation. Sometimes we even make eye contact more than once, and it feels like there could be mutual interest, but I still stop myself because I’m afraid it might feel like harassment or make her uncomfortable.

I’m not talking about the usual disrespectful way some guys approach girls here—shouting weird words like “ya zin” from far away and expecting her to stop and talk. I mean walking up politely, speaking respectfully, introducing myself, and trying to have a normal conversation. If she’s not interested, I’d respectfully leave. If she seems comfortable and interested, maybe I’d ask for her contact.

The problem is, because of so many men who approach in bad ways, I feel like respectful guys are judged the same, and honestly that makes me afraid to approach at all.

Because of that fear, even when there seems to be a good moment, I end up doing nothing and just walking away.

So I’m genuinely asking: would you find that respectful, or would it still make you uncomfortable?
