On paper it has everything I love in a deck. It's a strong midrange deck that has very simple yet very layered interactions. Plays well into handtraps. The aesthetic of the deck I think is really cool. The OCG name is sick (still not happy with the localization team on this one). The deck is kinda like a synchro version of Dracotail, which is one of my favorite and imo one of the best meta decks this game has created in a long time. I love how the monsters have the same Graveyard effects as DT does making difficult for your opponent to interact with, on top of chain blocking. Both decks also play an abundance of handtraps. The problem I'm having are what the monsters are actually doing. DT I believe got the balance just right. What that deck essentially had for interruptions were monsters bounces, one GY banish, a non targeting monster and s/t pop, and the only negates were a spell negate and a non targeting monster negate, but that had to be planned in advance since Mululu needed to be used in a fusion. Strong but not outrageous. KT on the other hand has effects that pop monsters and s/t, an omni on board, give full hand knowledge, multiple extra deck rips, top deck banish and manipulation, OTK potential, with even greater potential to play through handtraps than DT, while also breaking the synchro mechanic. Synchro's in this deck are really no different than fusion summoning. Tbh these interactions are ridiculous. On top of it's non engine also being essentially engine, the things the deck are doing are too much. It's entirely possible for this deck to banish essential combo pieces to your strategy, play around all your interaction since they've got full knowledge, and make you draw garbage since they've manipulated your deck to give the least optimal draw. From my testing for the upcoming format, the deck hasn't been very fun to play against, which is a thought I never had against DT after all these months. It just feels like one of those situation where they wanted to do Dracotail again but they just overtuned all the monster effects. I really want to love this deck, it would've been a smooth transition after DT inevitably gets hit. While it has most of what I want in a deck, the core of what the deck is doing unfortunately is very mean and nasty, and I don't really like that.

Anyone else feel like they over tuned Kewl Tune?
