My cat went deaf and is extremely loud, especially at night
I've had my cat for over 8 years now and somewhere around last year he started to become deaf. I've tried to go to the vet but even after recieving sedatives he gets way too aggressive so they always send me back (I figure it makes him all the more nervous not being able to hear). I don't know what to do, he is genuinely so loud at times that it's starting to drain me. I love him and he's super important to me, giving him away would absolutely break me and I really don't know what decision to make.
It's super complicated, I'll try to make this brief. I've been homeless for a while and doing horribly mentally, during that time my cat was at a friends place. The cat has gotten used to the new place now but again, he is really loud (he was at my friends place and old home too as soon as he started to hear less) and it triggers this stress in me that I may be evicted or forced to give him away. I really don't know what choice to make as he is all I have and I'd feel way too guilty since I am his safe person ever since he's little.
I am completely overwhelmed with getting my life back on track, I was sent to a place where I have to commute a lot and for hours, I'm trying my best to move again asap as this place is hopefully temporary. My mental health is awful, the only reason I get up and try is because I have to take care of him and could never neglect him, but this guilt of not being able to give him everything he may need is gnawing at me. I don't know if I am overreacting or in a very emotional state and in the end it's not as deep as he sleeps comfortably most of the days, eats well and behaves as usual, except the very loud cries because he uses his entire capacity to scream due to his deafness.
I don't know if he is trying to do that for orientation, he sits in a corner and yells at the walls.
He's been a housecat his entire life, yet he sometimes sits in front of the entrance and screams, wanting to go and explore further which I can't do in my apartment and I just feel all the more guilty that I can't let him out when he clearly wants to. He always tries to escape when he sees me getting ready to leave because he knows that means the door will open. But even if there was a possibility, now that he is deaf I would be way too worried to let him go outside.
Either way I'm super overwhelmed, not knowing how to deal with the noise, which luckily doesn't last long but enough times for the neighbours to complain if they wanted to. I don't know how to teach him not to try and escape or scream so loud, he did listen to words well back then but now it's a little harder.
I'm sorry if all of this sounds like a jumbled mess, I am in a weird place emotionally at the moment as I have to handle everything by myself.
