I spent months building a "Zero-Cloud" document scanner to fix my privacy concerns. It’s finally live, and I’d love your honest feedback!
Hey everyone,
I’m a solo dev, and I’ve always been paranoid about scanning things like tax forms, IDs, and medical records using big-name scanner apps. Almost all of them require cloud accounts or "phoning home" to process your data.
I decided to build AbhiScan—a 100% offline, privacy-first scanner for Android. I just pushed it to production yesterday!
Why I think it’s worth your storage space:
- Total Privacy: Everything (OCR, edge detection, filtering) happens on your device. I used hardware-accelerated ML so your sensitive PDFs never touch a server.
- Smart Search: It has a built-in search engine that lets you find text inside your scans instantly—even if you have hundreds of files.
- Zero Bloat: I focused on a clean, Material 3 design with an OLED-friendly "Midnight" dark mode. No unnecessary permissions, no lag.
I need your help! As an indie dev, the hardest part isn't building the app—it's getting those first few users and reviews to help with the Play Store's visibility.
If you have a minute to download it and try scanning something, I would deeply appreciate your feedback.
- Is the edge detection working well on your phone?
- Is there a specific feature you’ve always wanted in a scanner app but could never find?

If you like the app and feel like leaving a review, it would honestly make my week. I’m here to answer any questions or take feature requests!
