Thinking into returning to the game. How is COOP and PVP scenario in 2026?

I played Elden Ring a lot in the past, though I did not finish it. After 4 years of trying other stuff and after frustration, I want to return to the game that gave me the best PVP I ever had, also taking it as an opportunity to finish what I never finished. I heard the statue PVP matchmaker added also has rankings (bronze, silver, gold...) to compete. How true is that? How is PVP population (PC, Steam)? I saw charts are very good, but how about PVP aspect of it? Invasions, red sign duels... (though I prefer to focus into the ranked tournaments).

I also liked to help people into random coop, too. People is still summoning you? There is some new mechanic or feature about multiplayer in general?

I know nightreign is not an adventure game, not pvp, so this should still be the main franchise game to be on, and 32000 players online sound very good. Even more than For Honor, the one I considered trying, that is main PVP focused. But I think I'll be more happy here.
