front firing Energy cf50 or Def Tech 2000tl towers

friend is gifting me the 2000tl towers or he will trash them. i dont have space to put the towers 3 feet away from a wall, and powering them into an outlet will also be annoying. are these deftech far and away better speakers for home theater, or should i stick with the Energy speakers? just want to get a sense if powered bipolar is the way to go for home theater towers. i already have a 15 hsu research sub that rocks the whole room, so dont feel a need for the extra sub power from the deftechs.
