New to Smite 2, familiar with LoL to an extent but need help finding a god to fit my playstyle

I played LoL for a few years, I tried out Smite 1 back in like 2014 but couldnt get behind it due to the camera angle so I ended up leaving for another game. Im now trying out getting involved with Smite 2 as I have a few friends who no-life this game. Now, I dont have the balls to jump straight into conquest as thats quite intimidating for a new player. I already get bitched at in Arena for not being the best.

Obviously I started playing Quick Play first to get to level 5. As a new player who doesnt understand what items synergize well, I thought the 3 choice option for items was incredibly helpful to start but due to how easy it was(I assume its mainly bots), I found when I transitioned over to Classic Arena that I had some bad habits like over extending and taking on fights I could not win. Is there anything like that "3 items choice" in Classic or is there an app like Mobalytics for Smite 2? Thats one thing I generally liked about QP because looking at that item list is daunting, something like Mobalytics was super helpful for the whole "Import Build" option, made learning champs a little easier when you're not focused on "does this item work well with my champion?" and accidentally throwing the game because you made the wrong decision(this happened twice until I found builds online and threw them into the Auto Builder but is there a more streamlined option for importing auto builds?).

Now with LoL, I was more of a melee champion main but Im finding with this game I like to be more defensive at a distance, kind of more ADC-like, as I dont know what gods do what and theres a lot of information to take in all at once. I dont like over extending and getting into sticky situations as Im not great at getting out of them. Maybe thats just me getting accustom to the game. I find I like Neith, I play her like a "poke champ", dink from a distance then go all in with abilities(I like the Stun, Heal, Auto/Ult combo). The main reason I constantly pick her is the simple fact she has escape abilities like stun lock and backflip tf out of there. What ranged/mage gods would yall recommend I try out? Ill be 100% honest, I could read all the abilities for each god on their gods card but nothing will register in my mind until I play them but I dont necessarily have 100s of hours right off the bat to try and test out all 70+ gods nor would I retain all that information in that time frame. Artemi is one that peaked my interest but I havent tried her out yet, I saw her in a game I was playing and she absolutely MELTED anyone she touched.
