Could this be ADA retaliation/discrimination, or am I overthinking it?
Looking for honest feedback from anyone familiar with ADA accommodations or the EEOC process. I disclosed ADHD at work earlier this year and requested reasonable accommodations, Since then, I feel like the tone toward me has changed a lot.
Meetings that were supposed to be supportive started focusing heavily on my “areas for improvement,” and I’ve felt increasingly singled out. I’ve also noticed more monitoring/documentation around my work and situations where my manager distributes team projects unevenly and gives me significantly more work than others, even after I raised concerns about being overwhelmed.
One thing that especially stood out was being asked to sign off on task completion documents in a way that felt unusual and overly targeted. When I questioned it, the response changed a few times and I was basically told not to overthink it.
HR has been involved and says they’re trying to support me and prevent retaliation, but I still feel uncomfortable and anxious in my work environment since disclosing my ADHD. I’ve documented pretty much everything, but part of me feels like maybe it still wouldn’t be worth filing anything and that I’m overthinking the situation.
Does this sound like something potentially worth discussing with an employment lawyer/EEOC, or more like a difficult management situation that probably wouldn’t go anywhere legally?
Would appreciate honest opinions.
