The internet was supposed to set creative work free. Not steal the credit.
Every time you upload something, you're taking a risk. how much does it cost me if this gets stolen, used without credit, fed into a model, or remixed beyond recognition? For a lot of creators, that calculation is slowly changing the way they share. They post less. They watermark aggressively. They keep the best work private.
That's sucks for everyone.
The internet was supposed to be the most powerful distribution system ever built for creative work. But it was never built with attribution as a default. The assumption baked into every platform is that once something is public, the connection between the work and the person who made it is optional.
We think that's the thing worth fixing.
A world where every piece of work carries a permanent, verifiable thread back to its creator thats not locked behind a slow expensive legal process, not dependent on a platform's goodwill, not strippable by a scraper. It means posting is sharing again. It means your name travels with your work wherever it goes.
That's what Stelais is building toward. The provenance record we create today is the infrastructure that world runs on.
Share freely. Be credited always.
