Roommate moving out - need help understanding logistics

Hey guys,

My roommate is moving out July 15th, and I might stay for another 5-6 months or so. We live at an apartment near yonge and st clair. Some questions I had:

- I’m hoping to find another roommate to live with for the short term until I move out, if I find a replacement roommate will our new lease remain month-to-month? (Currently it is)

- some suggested that I should still give the 60 days notice in May and that way if I don’t find a roommate, I’m not stuck paying the full rent myself. But if I give the 60 days notice would this trigger a new one year lease if I do find a new roommate during that time?

- What are some good sites to find short term roommates? Fb?

Anything else I should be aware of?
