I feel like my new cat doesnt love me anymore

Hi all!

I recently adopted a cat about a month ago, at 7 months old. Things started out great, he would regularly lay by me and come over for pets, sleep in the bed with me. He even snuggled with me a few times, but about a month later now it seems like he wants nothing to do with me aside from having playtime. If i pet him, he’ll tolerate it for a few seconds before walking away, and he won’t sleep in the bed with me anymore.

I still love him regardless and I can deal with it if this is how it will be for the rest of his life. But I can admit it makes me a little sad.

Has anyone else dealt with this from a new cat? And did anything change?
