Cat Won't Stop Peeing In My Room

I have an almost adult kitten who has never done this before, but about a month ago he went to the bathroom on my dresser. I had no idea what it was at first because it had dried while I was away (other people were there to take care of him, but I wasn't there to observe my room specifically). I find it again, weeks later, now aware. Then just now again. He has a clean place to go that he utilizes just fine, it's like he's specifically trying to go in my room on my furniture. Why? How do I stop him?
