DP: D1 Lounge Access with Connecting Flight Booked Separately
I flew Latam LIM-JFK in J, then connected on a separately ticketed Delta flight from JFK-BOS. I was not sure if I would get access to the D1 Lounge at JFK since partner airlines do not get access on arrival, and my connection was not booked on the same itinerary. Online rules say you get access with connecting flights, but I wasn't sure if they would give me a hard time with the separate PNR.
Leaving a data point here for anyone in the future to say I had no trouble getting access. Delta agent at the door scanned my inbound Latam boarding pass and asked if I was connecting and let me in when I said yes. They never asked to see my JFK-BOS boarding pass. At one point I had to leave the lounge and come back, and a different agent letting me back in did the same thing as the first one.
Oh, and what a great experience the lounge was! All the staff were so nice and genuinely seemed to love their jobs. Food and service were top notch. Hope I get to be back soon!
