Best Golf Resort near Edinburgh

Hello! I'm going to Ireland/Scotland in September. My bf is a biiig golfer and we have about 3 full days in Edinburgh before heading to Dublin. I want to stay one night in a resort/nearby a really nice course and surprise him with the full plan for it. Looking for suggestions!
