Could scraping the ‘N’ off the women’s washroom sign be a subtle transphobic thing?

So at my work there’s a bathroom that’s only accessible (realistically) by my department and one other that we don’t really have much to do with. Small groups, probably 15-20 people total who aren’t all onsite at a time.

Recently the N was scraped off the women’s washroom door, and like… I can’t see that just falling off, and everyone in here is likely far too grown to randomly deface things.

Am I crazy? I can’t find anything about this being like a subtle thing that people do to signal negatively, but it seems weird still just from the lack of general access to the door.
