Let us carry our expendables in our hands with our support weapons on our backs.
The Bullet Storm really highlights the issue of our expendables replacing our stowed support weapon.
Here's a comparison between Recoilless + Bullet Storm vs Stalwart + EAT (Regular)
- Recoilless to kill heavy units.
- See bug breach/bot drop/whatever
- Call in Bullet Storm.
- 300 Rounds, light pen, 1300 RPM, ~14 seconds of continuous firing to use up 1
- Recoilless dropped for Bullet Storm, I'm RUNNING AROUND for ~14 seconds magdumping whatever group is chasing me.
- Run out of ammo. -Start looking for your Recoilless/Second Bullet Storm -??? ~14 seconds of staying (if ALL I DO IS SHOOT) around one area just to use it all up because I'm sure as hell not leaving my Recoilless in the dirt.
-
Stalwart to clear chaff. Stalwart has 250 ammo, light pen, THREE RELOADS (can reload while running)
-
See enemies spawn
-
Gun them down with Stalwart
-
See heavy unit
-
Call EAT
-
EAT drops
-
take 1 second to grab and shoot EAT
-
optional second EAT if whatever I shot survived
-
pick up my Stalwart
-
Problem solved within a couple of seconds, still have my support weapon to clear out everything else afterwards because I don't have to lug around ~14 seconds worth of a bullet stream.
I get more use out of my Stalwart too, larger ammo cap and reloading while sprinting is great.
I don't even want the damn thing buffed. All I want is for the Helldiver to stow their support weapon on their back and let me run around with the expendable.
Make me drop it when I switch to my primary/secondary/support/second expendable, but let me carry the damn thing around. I don't even care if I'm slowed down a bit while doing so just in case people run around with the second EAT on their back becomes a problem.
