Are there body modification surgeries that would make someone safer from assassination?

I doubt this is desirable even for high-profile individuals, but for the sake of argument, are there realistic procedures (big or small) available that might make someone more resistant to violent attacks or assassination attempts? Implants around the skull, artificial protection inserted around normal arteries, implants around vital organs, etc. Just a random ass thought.
