Hi folks,

I've wanted to build this particular project for years and finally have been able to get it launched - it's an iOS app which works with Apple's FamilyControls to interrupt the autopilot of scrolling sessions. I tried other apps and they either had too little friction or too much - I wanted something that would wake up my brain and allow me to choose whether I actually wanted to be on \[insert social media app/video game/general brainrot app\].

It's called Sphinx - the idea being that you need to answer a riddle in order to continue on. There's a few different challenge types and difficulty levels so that users can customize their experience.

I'm really happy with it, and it's actually doing what I wanted and is helping me with my screen time. Even on the worst days where I don't put my phone down as much and solve the challenge, at least my mental math is improving lol.

I am sure it's cliche, but now that this is finally on the app store, I'm finding myself a bit lost - I think this is a good product, but now I need to figure out how to get it in front of people and see if someone else thinks it has value. I'm making reels to post on TikTok/Instagram/etc., but that can feel like speaking into the void. I'm hearing that it's too early for paid ads, especially when the app has no revenue yet, but I'm worried about losing momentum personally if there's basically no downloads for months. I'm at 8 users after launching last week - I think mostly from a short Reddit ads campaign. It feels like there's a system I need to figure out here, and I want this to work.

If you've launched a successful app, what has worked for you?

I launched my app, now what?
