How to circumvent bad hitreg?

:discussion: Discussion

Even when conditions are perfect(aside from LAN) there seems to be, ALWAYS, a slight feeling of "playing in the past". 128 tick lessens this and feels much better. But I have ALWAYS noticed my shots just straight up not hitting people when I'm aiming at them. And no this isn't a "git good" situation. I am a logical person who understands how the mechanics and video games work.

When I am standing still, 12 feet away from someone, crouching, spraying even with follow recoil on, and they are also standing still - I will see according to my own screen and the follow crosshair that I should have hit 6-8 shots on somebody, yet the game says I only hit 1 or 2 shots. Things like this happen so often. This isn't a momentary server lag, or a ping issue or framerate issue. And it's definitely not a mechanical issue, spray control, reseting the recoil, standing still, etc.

I know that even if people don't consciously notice this, many people who are really good at the game or play a lot undoubtably unconsciously notice it.

So my question is, how can you possibly play around this? To some extent, you aren't able to have an accurate depiction of what's going on to react to properly, and what you see is sometimes not what you get. When you react properly and do everything right, your bullets still miss almost as if the game has it out for you. So how do you predict or play around this? How do you make it so you can move and aim accurately and be sure you're actually hitting what you're aiming at? As opposed to feeling like everything is clunky and happening .25 seconds after you hit the buttons.

How can you comfortably and confidently play premier and reach 25k+ elo in conditions like this? It feels unreliable and I can't see how you can play around it unless you literally predict everything and have crazy game sense and play as if you know what you are going to do 2 steps ahead of literally everything that happens, instead of being able to play reactively to dynamic situations.
