let's be honest Cache from valve is a bit bad nah?
Yo im super fan of Cache, it was my favorite map on CS GO but.
Don't you think that the version Valve is offering us is inferior in quality to what the original creator offered us on the workshop?
But what exactly is wrong with it?
The first thing that strikes me is the size of the zones. Cache from Valve is far too large for no reason. it adds nothing to the gameplay. On the contrary, the zones are wider, but they are also more enclosed, both by the addition of windows above the main entrances like Main A and by the entire area outside site B on the T side. which reduces the possibility of using grenades, among other things. not to mention the removal of the small hole in the middle that allowed the CT to throw stuff which is no longer here in this version.
What was cool about Cache CS:GO was that the map was very linear but offered the possibility of rotating from site A to B and vice versa due to its decent size, even if there was very little time left on the round timer. I think time management will be more complicated in this version.
The second thing that particularly shocked me was the map's lighting. many areas are placed in shadow, and the map is much less inviting and colorful than the creator's version.
While it certainly fits better with the atmosphere we imagine for the Chernobyl power plant, but this is CS,a competitive videogame and the fact that 70% of the map is dark is a real problem in my opinion.
I would really like the creator's version of the workshop to be taken into consideration and used instead of this cache version which is really not great.
