How hard is it to use a power demolition drill to take out a floor?
I want to try and save some money on a new kitchen renovation project that involves taking out the flooring and installing new flooring. I was wondering if I could use a power demolition power drill to take out the old flooring and just have a professional put the new one. The present flooring has a thick mortar bed kind of like concrete so I need something powerful enough to break it.
I went online and found some youtube tutorials where it doesnt seem that hard to actually do this. It would just save a lot of labor hours, the only thing I am worried about is that I may damage something that will cost me more to repair and then I will need to hire someone to fix that, or the guy that lays the new flooring will charge me more to fix my mistakes. I am not sure where I can purchase a power demolition drill but I do know that I will be able to use it for other home renovation tasks so its not a bad investment, especially if they cost around $40 to $60 which is actually really cheap, I saw a few on alibaba and amazon. I am just thinking about how much money I can save my getting one of these and doing it myself. I think generally we should probably start doing stuff like this now because its going to be real expensive real fast to try and hire someone to do it now.
