I didn’t expect the gym to help my mind this much
I didn’t start working out to fix my mental health. at that point I wasn’t even thinking that far. I just felt off most days, low energy, no real motivation, and everything felt heavier than it should. simple things felt hard to start, and I kept putting them off. I thought it was just a phase but it stayed longer than I expected.
I started going to the gym for a very basic reason, just to do something different. nothing serious. some days I didn’t even want to go, but I still showed up and did something small. a short workout, a bit of movement, nothing impressive.
but over time I noticed small changes. my mind felt a bit clearer after workouts. I had a little more structure in my day. I wasn’t overthinking as much, at least for a while. it didn’t fix everything, but it gave me a break from how I was feeling.
and slowly that started to add up. I felt a bit more in control, a bit more present. not “cured” or anything dramatic, just better than before.
looking back, I think it wasn’t just the workout itself, it was the routine, the movement, and the fact that I was doing something instead of staying stuck.
still working on it, but it definitely helped more than I expected
curious if anyone else felt a shift like this after starting to work out
