what makes you want to downvote someone’s post/comments?

this hasn’t happened too much but for 2 or 3 of my posts i had a up/down vote ratio of 60-80% and im kinda confused as to why people downvoted bc out of all the comments no one said anything negative at all

from my understanding, down votes are used for if your post goes against the sub’s rules, contains misinformation, is unrelated, etc.. not if you just don’t like or don’t agree with the post itself? please let me know if i understood this correctly!

trying to figure out why people downvoted those posts bc they were just simple questions i asked, it’s especially confusing bc everyone was nice in the comments (cause it wasn’t like some controversial statement or anything )
