I came back from a trip with tan and people are acting like I downgraded😭

I got back from a trip to Brazil and got a hell lot of tan I was out in the sun a lot

But ever since I got back friends family classmates keep pointing it out and not casually it’s the tone like I didn’t get darker I somehow became worse? There is a weird disappointment in their voice😭

I wouldn’t have cared if it was just “oh you got darker” but it feels like they’re implying it’s a bad thing 😭

It’s like getting darker = becoming less attractive or less presentable and that’s such a weird mindset to still have

It’s 2026 and we still act like this
