Created OpenClaw plugin now for Spectyra
I posted the other day about an OpenClaw skill I built to help reduce AI API costs, and I just released a plugin version that integrates directly into the OpenClaw UI.
Big thing I learned while building this: prompt compression is actually a pretty small part of cost savings.
Most of the waste was coming from things like:
- repeated calls happening without realizing it
- agents/tool loops
- sending way more context than needed
- using expensive models for simple tasks
- no caching on identical requests
Once I started looking at the *full request flow* instead of just tokens, it changed how I think about optimizing AI usage.
The plugin basically runs locally alongside OpenClaw and surfaces that kind of stuff in real time.
You can find the Spectyra Plugin on Clawhub if you want to try it.
Do you have any ideas on what else could help save or what you think would make sense to add?
