#15 hammer spring questions

Hey all, I recently started down the road of modifying my P09. Ideally, I'd like the short reset kit, but given the amount of dry fire I do, the CGW P Series Complete Upgrade Spring Kit is the better choice in case I break anything.

Do I need to buy the extended firing pin for reliable ignition? Or can I forego that and have the standard firing pin in there? I have no other modifications on my gun.
