Human Rights and the pure will
This is the Aeon of Human Rights. I like to say that if you took Bablon’s DNA and spread it across a table it would spell out the words “Human Rights.”
But how does it connect to the M Current of the New Aeon?
Human Rights is nothing but the current term we’re using in political parlance as we grope our way toward protecting and supporting the pure will of every member of the community. People outside the Crowley community don’t realize this of course because they don’t know about the pure will, but my impression is that people within the community don’t realize it either. (Of course, I don’t get out much, maybe they do for all I know.)
Eventually we’re not going say “Human Rights” anymore, we’re just going to say, “protecting and supporting the pure will.”
Crowley’s Liber Oz got the ball rolling, of course, but there’s vastly more to it than just Liber Oz. If people are starving to death, Oz ain’t gonna do them much good. (Are you familiar with Abraham Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs?) So when we turn to thinking about protecting and supporting the pure will, we have to recognize that includes providing them with all the basics—a significant amount of material and physical security, education and health care, opportunities for their children, civil rights, anti-discrimination and equality, due process of law, meaningful participation in governance and all that standard stuff that Crowley wasn’t really focused on when he wrote Oz. So we need to widen our vision. Meditation and rituals and jacking consciousness up through the stratosphere are important parts of advancing the Aeon, but so are all those basic things that we don’t have in mind when we think about M.
My own model is that following one’s pure will is the point of your maximum power, effectiveness and fulfillment and also where you make your maximum contribution to the community. Why do we educate our people? Because we recognize it will redound to our benefit; that they will be able to contribute more than if they were ignorant. And that’s the very same reason why we should protect and support the pure wills of each and every member of our communities.
Times a million.
So whenever you hear “Human Rights,” that’s what you’re hearing—N folk slowly groping their way toward the idea of the vital importance of protecting and supporting the pure will.
Hope this helps!
Best,
D.
