I just saw TheMisterEpic's latest video on VintageBeef's server
He dups on servers that have exploitative P2W gambling mechanics. His latest video shows him hitting a server owned by Vintage Beef: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4I-GjqSoxg
I don't have a problem with some level of P2W. It's hard for a server to be financially viable without that. I remember seeing a lot of servers killed by trying to go EULA compliant back in the day - that permanently damaged the server scene in a way it's never recovered from.
But the gambling mechanics in a server that is inevitably targeted to children - that's a pretty clear problem.
Beef doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would be OK with that, and I can't imagine he would want his name associated with targeting children with gambling mechanics. It looks like the server is run by a business that runs several other servers. Maybe he hasn't really paid much attention to the details of how the server is run or really thought through what it's actually doing; a lot of servers use this method of monetisation and he just trusted the administration with the financial details of the server.
Is there somebody who could reach out to him and ask him to do something about the gambling mechanics? I can't imagine that he would be OK with this if he was aware of it and really understood the issue.
