College and life getting in the way of each other
My online course consists of simply reading chapters of the textbook and then taking a quiz, a test, and a scenario to discern how well we receive the knowledge. This is incredibly difficult and I very rarely know the answer on my first guess and often have to reread the textbook before answering.
I feel like this is the worst possible way for me to learn the material. There’s no class time, instead the class consists solely of reading the textbook. I work full-time, I have court obligations (sobriety group, therapy, case management, court coordinator meetings, community service, drug tests, and court appearances), and I have two other classes (I have to read about 100 pages between each class session and I have an essay to write in my other class). I’m so overwhelmed that I cannot take this pressure. I cut back on hours at work (by one day) yet still have limited time. I’m now in a position where I have 0/16 hours of community service done, and I’m barely hanging on getting my classwork and homework done.
I talked to my court coordinator about it and she said they will hold me back from proceeding in the court program until I get my community service done. Having already talked to my boss about moving to four days, I don’t really see any way out of this. To top it all off, my house is a disaster of a mess and my limited time is compromised due to my license being suspended and not owning a car.
How does one balance full-time work (35 hours a week), full-time school (3 classes), biweekly therapy, weekly meetings (4-5 hours of my time including transit), biweekly court appearances and counseling, AND 16 hours of community service ?
