Been married for 5 years and I am confused about where we stand
Reddit post: Been married for 5 years and I don’t know what to mae of our relationship. When I got married, I wanted the usual things you’d want from a marriage. Excitement, kids, a romantic relationship.
Now, after being through all the episodes any marriage goes through, I feel like my partner and we have moved towards a deep trust and bonding but I am confused because we are like ‘still water’ and I am worried a tsunami is going to disrupt everything, and also constantly worried this is not how we are ‘supposed’ to be.
The following are some things you need to know about us:
-
My husband didn’t want kids for so long that I convinced myself not having kids is the better option, and now I genuinely do not want to be responsible for tiny living beings.
-
When I tell him that I no longer want kids, he responds differently every time. Sometimes he agrees, sometimes he tells me that we could have kids even after 35 and I don’t know what to make of it.
-
He lives 2 hours from home for work (he comes home every week) and I feel like our bond has only gotten stronger this way because we fight less and crave for each other more. I am sure he doesn’t feel that way but I feel more peaceful this way.
Tl;dr Confused after being married for 5 years about kids etc
