So I m french never got car with issue before prius 2013 220k miles I m at a loss car broke down 4 hour away from home struggled to maintain speed I floored the speed pedal to pass hill then it lost all speed in a matter of 20 seconds twice in freeway 1st tow to lambda mechanic he found toyota tech did not fastened nut correctly on 12v gave up code for too high temperature 12v fastened it told me should be fine to continue 40 min later big vibration in car sqw the hybrid gauge go fullbhalf super fast lost all speed again no dashboard warning light showing up. got towed 2 hour to toyota they charged me 400 and did not find what's wrong they said no code showed up but my motor is very loud. Have to go back 2h away pick up my car tomorrow. at this point if no mechanic take it there 2h away. What am I supposed to do with car? Drive it on highway take risk to be stranded?Who to call? I have aaa road assistance. Ask my insurance to total it for safety issue? I live in small town only toyota dealer who didnt install 12v correctly available. And his reply when I called was I cannot prove I did not touch that nut. 🤬 so yeah not helpful. My car has the faulty IPM toyota only replace if it gives out code but symptom similar lost all speed on highway. Should I drive it around the toyota with obd reader attached to see if reproduce and bring it back to them?
