Lexus LC500 in Ultra White Paint
I just bought a 23’ LC500 in Ultra white paint, it has about 10 tiny rock chips on the front bumper and a good amount of scraping on the underside. I’m at a crossroads on what to do here since it’s a 1 of 2 spec in the nation and I intend to keep it as a collectors car. I have gotten an estimate at $3,000 for a brand new bumper and paint match but with ultra white it’s a 3 step paint so I’m worried it won’t match - even though they’ve given me a 100% guarantee that it will. The shop I’d take it to has repaired million dollar mclarens, Ferraris, Porsches and more.
Obviously my other option is just to fill the chips and underside of the bumper in with touch up paint, but I am going to PPF the whole car and I’m not sure which route to go. I know the touch up paint won’t be a good match due to the flake in this paint but is it worth it to do that vs installing a brand new front bumper at the risk of someone discovering it’s not original?
This is a 125k car that’s likely to appreciate in value so I’m trying to figure out the best plan of action. I heard that since the front bumper is plastic, even if a paint meter was used they wouldn’t be able to tell since the rest of the car is metal which holds paint differently. Idk if that was true or false.
