Software Engineer(currently on contract)- Need advice regarding layoff and resignation, things to know before resigning

Help

Hey everyone. Software Engineer (4 YOE) here. Need some advice pronto, and thanks in advance.
My current company is based in the middle east, been working remotely from India as full time employee since Sept'24. Recently due to the war situation in the middle east, the company was not able to pay salaries in time. They converted all of us from full time to contract to cut costs. HR is now asking me to put in my resignation as part of layoffs. Currently 3 months' salary pending(Feb, March, April). Payroll usually should come before 10th of every month here. Will putting in resignation today affect in any way the payroll I should recieve for this month? Is there anything I should know of before I put in my resignation? Also, since I was recently converted to a contract based role, I won't be eligible to any severence right? Would love some insights about this. If you need more context I'd be happy to share more. Thanks!
