Why does music effect me so much emotionally but seeing emotional things doesn't have the same effect.

Music disproportionately moves me emotionally. In media, whenever I feel like its supposed to be an emotional moment, if there isnt music that goes with it, I find it hard to feel any sort of emotion, while on the other hand, if I hear a piece of music that invokes emotion, it can bring me to tears.
