Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra

When adding a microSD to the S11 Ultra what is the integration like software wise? Does it separate the internal memory and microSD? I remember this being not great on older devices (on my S7 I remember having to move photos off the device to the microSD or program it to save to the SD card). Grateful for any thoughts/opinions!
