Books Recs After A Forbidden Alchemy

I’m looking to fill the hole A Forbidden Alchemy by Stacey McEwan has left. I devoured the book and need another page turner until book two comes out in July.

What I loved about this book was how the MFC and MMC knew each other from the past and came back together, refreshing from the enemies-to-lovers trope. The MFC wasn’t a soldier/warrior. The plot twists and turns. The rich world building done through the writing style. And how the romance was yearning and sweet and didn’t descend into smut (don’t get me wrong, there is a time and a place for smut).

I guess I love strong world building/politics though good writing and there is a romantic subplot that is still well developed.
