Uncertain about Hashimoto's Diagnosis
My TPO AB came back 28 iu/mL, which technically reads as high for my doctor's lab scale (1-20 normal), yet a lot of sources online say that anything below 35 is generally considered normal? My allergist is saying that is confirmed Hashimoto's and I'll need my thyroid levels tested annually now. I have no issue with the annual testing just in case, but I'm just not super sold it's Hashimoto's? I have been scouring through reddit and haven't seen anyone else with lower readings than 50. Also I dont have chronic fatigue, pain, weight gain, other common symptoms. I just have really bad allergies, allergic skin issues and hives, hence why I got tested.
My TSH is normal (have been the last 3 tests) but I know that can change. Tryptase is normal but I am currently on Rhapsido for hives so that may have altered the reading. IgE is very high though (875). Also, I am highly allergic to cats but live with them so.. shocker my body is mad at me, but I've had them for years and the chronic urticaria developed more recently (tho I did have hives as a kid).
So, is it fair to question my doctor's diagnosis or could I reasonably have another kind of autoimmune/MCA issue and/or just an extremely bad allergic sensitivity instead? She was a great allergist otherwise, but maybe I need to see an immunologist or rheumatologist instead?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!
